  2.                       "WVCD CD-ROM"
  3.  
  4. Welcome to the WVCD CD-ROM.  This CD-ROM provides "California Superstars
  5. Calendar" CD-Rom viewers with video of unequaled quality and pleasure. 
  6. This CD-Rom plays to PC/AT's with high color display
  7. cards or standard VGA display cards that are supported with a VESA 
  8. driver.
  9.  
  10.            INSTALLATION FILE FOR WVCD CD-ROMS!
  11.  
  12. To configure your PC with Expanded Memory, make sure your Config.sys
  13. file has the following:
  14.     DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS
  15.     DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE 2048 FRAME=e000 RAM
  16. If you use QEMM: 
  17.     DEVICE=C:\QEMM\QEMM386.SYS RAM
  18.         (Instead of HIMEM.SYS and EMM386.EXE)
  19. If you are using any other type of memory manager you must look in 
  20. your manual for the appropriate line to be added to your Config.Sys.
  21.  
  22. 1.  Insert the WVCD CD-Rom into your CD-ROM drive
  23.  
  24. 2.  Access your CD-ROM drive [e.g. E: F: <enter>]
  25.  
  26. 3.  At the prompt for the system, type "INSTALL D C <enter>". 
  27.     This Example is if your D drive is a CD-Rom drive and you wish 
  28.     to install the Dirtectory to the C Drive. Follow Instructions.
  29.     [e.g. D E <enter>] - Do not use a colon after the CD-ROM 
  30.     drive letter 
  31.  
  32. 4.  Once installation is finished a WVCD directory will be 
  33.     created on the Hard drive. 
  34.  
  35. 5.  To start "California Superstars" go to the WVCD directory on 
  36.     your Hard Drive and type "Cal" <enter>.
  37.  
  38. 6.  To use the Notepad feature you must load the WVCD directory into
  39.     your PATH statement. 
  40.  
  41. 7.  If you do not have the DOS directory in your path you may get
  42.     a bad command when you run the install -
  43.         - The files that need to be copied are:
  44.         - TMMPLAY.EXE & .GXL
  45.         - ?.GFT
  46.         - TESTAUD.EXE
  47.         - TEST.WAV
  48.         - THE CAL.BAT FILE FROM THE ?PLAY DIR. 
  49.                 - CD-ROM = D - GO TO DPLAY DIR; ETC..
  50.         - README.TXT

  52. 8. If your Hard drive is something other than the "C" drive - run 
  53.    the install as noted, with one exception:
  54.     Example: INSTALL F D
  55.         THIS IS FOR A CD-ROM OF F AND HARD DRIVE OF D
  56.         * ONCE THE INSTALL IS FINISHED YOU MUST EDIT THE 
  57.           CAL.BAT FILE - 
  58.             CLS
  59.             @ ECHO OFF
  60.             SET TMMLIB=D:\WVCD
  61.             TMMPLAY F:\OPEN.TMM
  62.  
  63.         YOU MUST EDIT THE TMMLIB=?:\WVCD LINE *
  64.  
  65. 9.  The Audio test program is run by typing TESTAUD TEST.WAV
  66.     This will configure the TMMPLAY to run with your Audio Card.

  75.     Your video card needs to be VESA compliant.  Most cards 
  76.     require drivers loaded as TSRs during boot.  If you do 
  77.     not have one of these drivers, please contact the card 
  78.     manufacturer.

  80.     Common questions and problems:
  81.  
  82.     1.) The image is very poor - few colors and bad resolution.
  83.       
  84.       You have a non-VESA card or the VESA driver is not 
  85.       loaded when running the program.  Add the driver to 
  86.       your Autoexec.Bat
  87.

  90.     RECOMMENDED COMPUTER CONFIGURATION IS AS FOLLOWS:
  91.  
  92.   - 386-20/486-33 Mhz.
  93.   - Supported 15 bit high color VGA adapter. 
  94.   - MPC compatible CD-ROM drive (minimum throughput of 150
  95.   - Kilobytes per second) for proper video playback.
  96.   - Microsoft or compatible mouse.
  97.   - VGA monitor compatible with video adapter and/or VESA driver.
  98.   - 640 KB base memory (540 KB base memory free.) 
  99.   - 2 megabytes EXPANDED memory.
  100.   - 540K OF CONVENTIONAL MEMORY
  101.   - DOS 3.3 or higher.
  102.   
  103. NOTE: If the CD-ROM drive letter is changed after installing
  104. this disk, you will need to run the installation again.
  105.  
  106. NOTE: If the CD-ROM does not run with your Video Card you may
  107. need to add the appropriate VESA drivers for your system.
  108.

  110. of any type whatsoever.  By purchasing this CD, the user agrees 
  111. that WVCD will not be held liable for any damages,including lost 
  112. profits, savings, or any other incidental or consequential damages  
  113. arising out of the use or the presence of any program, or the 
  114. inability to use this program or any of the programs from this CD, 
  115. even if WVCD has been notified of the possibilty of such damages, 
  116. or for any claims by any other party. Our only warranty is limited 
  117. to this actual CD-ROM: It is deemed to be free from physical defects 
  118. for 30 days from date of purchase. If it's defective, WVCD will 
  119. replace it with the same type for 30 days.
